Let's Talk About What Programming Actually Is

Before you decide whether to join our program, you deserve an honest conversation about what you're getting into. No fluff, no false promises.

Programming Isn't Magic. It's a Skill Like Any Other.

You know how people talk about coding like it's this mystical thing? It's not. It's more like learning to cook or fix a car. There are rules, patterns, and yes—lots of trial and error.

Some days you'll write code that works perfectly on the first try. Most days? You'll spend an hour hunting down a missing semicolon. Both are completely normal.

Our students typically need 6-9 months of consistent practice before they feel comfortable building projects independently. Not because they're slow learners, but because that's how long it takes to develop real competence.

Three Things You Should Know Right Now

1

You'll Feel Lost Sometimes

And that's okay. Confusion is part of the learning process. We've built our curriculum to help you navigate those moments rather than pretending they won't happen.

2

Progress Isn't Linear

Some concepts will click immediately. Others might take weeks to sink in. You might understand loops on day three and still struggle with them on day thirty. That's normal human learning.

3

This Takes Real Time

If you can dedicate 15-20 hours weekly to learning and practice, you'll make solid progress. Less than that? You'll still learn, just more slowly. Be honest with yourself about what you can commit to.

A Word from Our Lead Instructor

I'm Oskar Lindqvist. I've been teaching programming here in Taipei since 2018. Before that, I spent eight years building web applications for companies across Europe and Asia.

Here's what I tell every new student: programming is learnable, but it's not effortless. You'll write bad code before you write good code. You'll break things before you build things. And honestly? That's the only way to actually learn.

Our autumn 2025 cohort starts in September. We're keeping it small—around 18 students—because I believe in giving genuine attention to each person's progress. Not because it sounds nice in marketing copy, but because that's the only way this works.

"The students who succeed here aren't necessarily the smartest or the most experienced. They're the ones who show up consistently, ask questions when they're stuck, and don't quit when things get frustrating."
